Emily Brooks is a seasoned paralegal whose trial skills and experience help The Church Law Firm’s clients obtain major victories in and out of the courtroom. In her role at the Church Law Firm, Emily manages the organization and review of discovery materials in our firm’s large-scale federal and state criminal cases; she provides hearing/trial preparation and support, including the presentation of audio-video exhibits; and she oversees general office administration, bookkeeping, and Human Resources management.
Emily obtained her Paralegal Certificate (ABA Approved) in 2005 and her Bachelor of Legal Studies in 2011 from Clayton State University. Emily has worked for a number of prominent trial lawyers in Atlanta over the past 22 years, with the last 11 years as a paralegal for well-known trial attorney and legal analyst, Page Pate, at the law firm of Pate, Johnson & Church. After Page Pate passed away in 2022, Emily joined the Church Law Firm and continues the work that Page inspired.
While Emily began her legal career working for a business law firm, she soon discovered that her true passion is in advocating for individuals charged in serious criminal cases. As a paralegal, Emily has a particular interest in cases involving child molestation allegations, state and federal hemp laws, and complex federal criminal cases. Working for some of Georgia’s top attorneys who specialize in these areas of law, Emily has gained invaluable experience in these kinds of cases and a continuing interest in helping people who are facing serious criminal charges.
In addition to her experience in state and federal criminal defense, Emily has significant experience in a number of other practice areas as well, including Personal Injury, Wills and Estates, Bankruptcy, and Whistleblower/Qui Tam actions.
